About the GH Tech Project

The Global Health Technical Assistance Project (GH Tech) is the USAID, Bureau for Global Health project that is the successor to:

  • MEDS – Monitoring, Evaluation and Design Support (Office of Health, Infectious Diseases and Nutrition);
  • POPTECH – Population Technical Assistance (Office of Population and Reproductive Health); and
  • Synergy – Office of HIV/AIDS.

GH Tech’s approach to supporting USAID recognizes and appreciates the challenges facing USAID staff as they seek to fulfill the Agency’s health goal to “stabilize world population and to protect human health.” The highly decentralized and constantly shifting context in which USAID programs operate, the high priority to demonstrate performance and results at all levels, and the need to measure and report on progress—as well as the responsibility to communicate and disseminate program findings, and the knowledge gained, lessons learned, and best practices within the wider USAID environment, and international community - are only a few of these challenges.

GH Tech focuses on the importance of managing knowledge and ensures that the results of the technical assistance results are incorporated into the project’s ongoing efforts, and that lessons learned from the assignment(s) are disseminated. GH Tech is prepared to provide flexible, high-quality, and rapid response and follow-through on all activities whether the efforts are technical, operational, or managerial.

As such, GH Tech will continue to provide USAID with high quality independent technical assistance and program support in the key areas of design, assessment, monitoring, and evaluation where the contractor is prohibited from seeking any follow-on program implementation work that was designed or evaluated under this contract.
